The best thing anyone can do, is to look at me...and see how special dogs are. Our place in the universe has been set and we have earned our right to be here.  Support groups that protect animals and fight those who don't.  If I was in your place....that is what I would do. Love us as we love you.

The National Geographic cable station, the show titled ..."And Man Created Dog", is very interesting and informative concerning the role of dogs relating to human beings over tens of thousands of years.  The very way we live today is influenced by our canine friends and fortunately we are beginning to give credit to this extremely social and intelligent creature.  If you get an opportunity to see this program, you will learn a lot and the way you look at dogs will forever change.  Thanks Ralphy.

...Winter Freeze

The winter cold, though still here, is gradually showing signs of leaving. It reminds me....how life is....a series of continuous change. The ability to endure, adapt, cope and even relish change is a quality to be admired, because it addresses the truth of what makes life interesting and challenging. What do you think?

There were many people wishing me a Happy Birthday and I just wanted to say I am thankful.  I am not much for birthdays, but getting older changes your perspective a bit.  To appreciate those who are your friends and family is so important and everyday I remind myself of that.  My tracks in the snow will disappear in time, but friendship remains and endures.  Thanks again..................jim

Anytime of the year is the right time to help those in need. After this recent snow blizzard I noticed people in our neighborhood snow blowing at their homes but also of their neighbors. Elderly and handicapped individuals particularly are persons who could use a helping hand, whether it is clearing their snow or maybe picking up groceries. Living in a community means cooperating and working together as one for the good of all. It was nice to notice people helping others, and I hope we can all keep the idea of helping a priority where we live. Hey...someday we all will need the help of some good Samaritan. What goes around comes around. Happy winter.............see ya. jim

..in the late summer of 2010 these sunflowers were magnificent beauties, but the fall and winter seasons have taken their obvious toll on them.............I still think they are wonderful.............remember, just because something gets old and withered, doesn't mean it is worthless..............think about it

Who needs palm trees when you have all of this great white stuff. Ralphy doesn't mind the cold and to be honest, he loves ripping thru the snow. He is enjoying his life and that makes me happy.

...standing tall

This silver maple in my backyard is unbelievably tall, wide and just plain huge.  Planted in 1941 as I have been told by the "planter", it has thrived and grown to quite the majestic tree.  Standing tall in the cold of winter, I can't help but admire it's determination to live and thrive.  Hey, it's a tree.............I know that.....but it's also amazing.

From the time Ralphy was just a puppy, he has always enjoyed running about in the snow. He is a snow dog. It isn't unusual to see him push his nose into the snow and then flick his head up and see the white flakes fly into the frigid air. Hey, you've got to have fun somehow...right?

...pawprints

Even when we walk away from our present which becomes the past, we leave an imprint on our actions.  So it would be a very good idea for us to do the right things in life and allow our footprints to be something special. 

As a note....The snow was freshly fallen and as Ralphy ran out towards the back of the yard, I noticed the  perfect pawprints.  I took the pic and realized how he has left his footprints all over my life.  I hope to one day leave my foot prints behind and be proud of them.  Thanks Ralphy.

...my New Year message to You 2011

Ok, now you know what I am doing on the first day of 2011.  I also plan on continuing this activity thru out the year if at all possible.  It's not that I am lazy or anything, it's just what a dog is supposed to do. 
Anyway, I am thinking....you know contemplating my place in the universe, devising plans for world peace, thinking of ways to invent a better doggie treat, and of course trying to figure out where I am going to lay down after I am thru laying down here.  So as you can plainly see, I am not what I may appear.  Happy New Year?
