..wood peckin'
If you pay attention to your outside surroundings, ocassionally you will run across some interesting "stuff". This red-bellied woodpecker was caught on my camera just the other day. Apparently there is something edible in this utility pole, because he spent a whole lotta time peckin'. Like I said, you just have to look.

...picnic in the park
Happened to be at Kensington Metro Park in Milford, MI and was fortunate enough to steal a few pics of this sandhill crane. It is amazing the kind of wildlife you can discover even if you live just a half hour or so from Detroit. Hope you liked the photo. See ya..........jimmy

...1st Big Snow of 2012
I knew it couldn't last...a winter without a substantial amount of snow. Hey, I love this white stuff. The cold and flakiness pushing and squishing about my paws is a wonderful sensation. When I am dashing at full speed , I love the feel of snow jettisoning itself away from me as my legs push off. What's not to like? See ya.............Ralphy

..the Gift
The simplicity of this tiny bird attached to a tree branch reminds me everyday of the wonders of life and how lucky I am to be a part of it. Nothing should be taken for granted. Your life is a gift...enjoy it. See ya..........jimmy

...forgetful Winter
Winter certainly has played tricks with us this winter year 2011-2012....so far. I do not remember, EVER, when shoveling snow didn't occur. My snow blower still has no gas in it, the new plug is sitting on top of it, and the new oil....well it's still new oil. I am not complaining, but I am surprised. I don't know whether this dove likes the winter snow or not, but I suspect he or she is also not going to be too upset about this unusual weather we are having here in Michigan. Anyway, it is still early in February and the "winter stuff" can still happen...but I suspect maybe old man Winter simply has forgotten that it is winter. What do you think? See ya..............jimmy
